Berth deepening and crane-rail upgrade for a container terminal: new gantry crane foundations, quay strengthening, and shore-power provisioning.

Receive the next class of container vessels without stopping terminal operations.

Approach

The quay wall strengthening and new crane-rail beams were sequenced berth by berth, with the crane foundations modelled against the piling records. Shore-power ducting went in with the same trenches.

Outcome

The terminal took its first larger-class vessel eight months after works began, with no full-berth closure.
