A cluster of engineered-timber residences on a forested slope, framed with prefabricated trussed roofs and insulated basement podiums.

Brief

Fast weather-tight shells on a short mountain building season.

Approach

The timber frames and roof trusses were detailed for prefabrication, delivered as flat packs, and craned onto cast basements. Every panel joint was resolved in the model before the factory cut a single stud.

Outcome

Framing to weather-tight took nineteen days per house.
