Approach and lighting study for an iconic single-pylon river crossing: deck-edge LED integration, cyclist comfort, and quay-side landing upgrades.
Brief
Improve the night-time legibility and cyclist experience of a city-defining bridge without altering its silhouette.
Approach
Deck-edge lighting was modelled fixture by fixture against glare limits for river traffic; the quay landings gain wider cycle ramps and clearer separation.
Outcome
The study's phased package lets the city upgrade the crossing one closure-free season at a time.
